I’m never quite sure if art or any creative output is a choice. For me, there is a drive that doesn’t quiet at rest - a voice that persists to pull the vision to the surface. I think that any creative would say something similar.
This tale tells a little different. After a lifetime career in analysis of scientific worlds, coming to terms with “seeing” energy is a wild connection point for me. Yet, here we are - so buckle up.
While all creative pulls tend to persist, there is one I have found that simply will not give me rest until it is accomplished. When I decided to get certified in Reiki, I thought “if it makes my Somatic clients feel some peace, why not…” - not that I thought it was bunk - I just didn’t get it. The day I walked into my first level of Reiki training, my life quite literally changed forever in one afternoon. This is not hyperbole - I mean that literally.
I’m ripping the band-aid off and telling you what a select circle have experienced. Reiki opened a pathway to “seeing” and “hearing” energy. As an trained analyst, I look for strong data, validation, verification and trends. Since embarking on my Reiki journey, the “seeing” and the “hearing” of energy has been 100% validated and verified. I’m not here to justify or convince. I am here to proudly state what I know - the pathway that was likely always there now has a name, a clearing to do it’s thing.
I have had the distinct honor to “see” and “hear” energy, put the vision to art and the song to writing and present to the recipient. Each drawing is completely unique, each story, each link so personal and special. Never afraid - sort of a “oh that’s what that has been all about” moment over and over…
There is a word that goes along with “seeing” and it is clairvoyant. It is not what I thought it was - it doesn’t mean I know the winning lottery numbers. But it does mean I see energy and I do. I am a clairvoyant Reiki practitioner — when I give Reiki, and sometimes simply when I speak of it, I see. A figure. A color. A presence waiting to be noticed. I draw what I see, and I write down what it tells me.
It is a true honor when I have “seen” a reading and the recipient has recognized what I drew. I am grateful for this journey.
I have drawn ancestors, I have drawn an ancient soul begging for a voice, I have drawn a living connection.

Reverse Ekphrasis - How My Artwork Comes to Life.
Traditional ekphrasis is writing inspired by visual art. I work in reverse.
Every piece I create begins as words — poetry, prose, a raw burst of creative expression, an energetic reading — and then I translate those words into visual art through drawing, painting, and layered digital work. The words are the under-drawing; the result is art that carries a story inside it. When it becomes a unique print, or a wearable art through a fantasy gown creation or limited edition handbag, the output is a story come to life. I am a writer in my soul and a lover of a love story.
